On November 15th, Professor Xu Jiaqiang from Shanghai University was invited by Researcher Yang Minghui to Ningbo Institute of Materials Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences for academic exchanges, and gave an academic report entitled "Sensitive Mechanism and Material Design of Gas Sensors".
In the report, Professor Xu Jiaqiang first introduced the relationship between the physical and chemical properties of gases and material design. The opportunities and challenges currently faced by gas sensors are introduced from the policy and market levels. The development of sensors in the future must be closely related to environmental safety, public safety, national security, energy conservation and emission reduction, environmental governance, security protection, Internet of Things, smart homes, smart cities, health care, wearable devices, and environmental monitoring. Then, the sensitive mechanism and research methods of gas sensor are introduced. And pointed out that the idea of semiconductor gas sensor material design must be high specific surface, high surface utilization, stable phase, high morphology retention, multi-level structure, low sensitivity, appropriate pore size, small volume material. After the report, Professor Xu answered the specific questions about gas sensors that everyone was concerned about in detail. Professor Xu's report expands new ideas for the future development of the team.
Professor Xu Jiaqiang, 1963.5, Ph.D., doctoral supervisor, majoring in materials chemistry, deputy director of the Department of Chemistry, leader of the new energy and sensing technology innovation team. In 1988, he graduated from the Department of Chemistry, Zhengzhou University; in 1988, he graduated from the Department of Materials, University of Science and Technology of China; in 2005, he received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Materials Science and Technology, Shanghai University. From 1988 to 2006, he worked in Zhengzhou Institute of Light Industry; after 2006, he worked in the Department of Chemistry, School of Science, Shanghai University. The research project "Microstructure Design, Controllable Preparation and Sensitization Mechanism of Metal Oxide Gas Sensing Materials" won the second prize of Shanghai Natural Science Award in 2015; Five achievements including "Application in Sensitive Materials" and "Study on Preparation and Application of Tin Oxide Gas-Sensitive Powder" won the second and third prizes of Henan Province Science and Technology Progress Award respectively; the textbook "Engineering Chemistry" won the 2011 Shanghai Excellent Award The second prize for textbooks; the course "Inorganic Chemistry" hosted by him won the Shanghai Excellent Course; "Engineering Chemistry Series Textbooks" was shortlisted for the national 13th Five-Year Plan textbook; he is the winner of the Science Fund for Outstanding Youth in Henan Province, an expert in Shanghai's safety production, "Functional Chemistry".
